COMMERCIAL MARINE

Since 2001, Seacoat has been at the forefront of development in the marine industry for surface functionalized silane/siloxane and polysiloxane coating technologies for non-stick surfaces. Twenty years ago, Seacoat invented the first hard film polysiloxane FRC for commercial and military maritime uses. By using nanotechnology to boost performance and lifespan longevity, we are ushering in a new era. Sea-Speed is thus the only environmentally friendly and long-lasting alternative to soft silicone coatings and hazardous self-polishing/ablative antifouling. The Ultra series is more durable and has the lowest surface roughness in the industry, with a surface roughness of just 0.1mm (5 microns). When compared to traditional polishing and ablative paints, Sea-Speed’s surface energy and hydrophobicity will reduce hydrodynamic drag, improving hull efficiency and lowers fuel consumption by 5-15%. The Ultra series coatings are completely non-permeable and UV stable, they provide unrivalled performance. The non-depleting coating has a life cycle of ten (10) years, lowering maintenance expenditures. As a result, Sea-Speed Ultra has the lowest lifecycle cost. Sea-Speed has Lloyds Class approval and is completely compliant with the International Maritime Organization.

Commercial Marine using Seacoat

Seacoat’s unique technology forms a hard yet flexible elastomeric coating that is impermeable and highly durable. Silane/Siloxane clear coat foul release coating along with our MIL-SPEC Seapoxy-73 marine epoxy primer are designed for application on steel or aluminium hulls on all types and sizes from ferries to container ships and everything in between.

Seacoat’s SEA-SPEED V10X Ultra Clear is an ideal alternative to soft duplex silicone foul release coatings or conventional toxic ablative anti fouling or SPC (Self Polishing Copolymer) anti fouling paint. Boat bottom paints of the future will need to be environmentally compliant and contribute to increased hull efficiency.

Seacoat’s marine coating technology is highly durable (resistant to abrasion and impact). The coating has a very low coefficient of friction, as well as extremely low surface energy resulting in reduced drag, and improved hull and fuel efficiency. The SEA-SPEED V10X Ultra Clear is extremely smooth, with a surface roughness of around five (5) microns. See testing certification section for more details. Depending on the vessel design, increases in speed and fuel economy up to ten percent (10%) may be realised compared to conventional antifouling paints. SEA-SPEED V10X Ultra Clear is a big step in efforts to reduce emissions and carbon footprint.

Silane/Siloxane clear coat technology is a hard film that is easy to clean and inherently minimising biofouling adhesion of marine growth. Unlike conventional bottom paint, SEA-SPEED V10X Ultra Clear can be underwater cleaned without damaging the coating or releasing toxic cuprous oxides or biocides into the aquatic environment. Whereas conventional bottom painting products may last one to three years, SEA-SPEED V10X Ultra Clear is a non-depleting material that does not polish or ablate. Guaranteed for 10 years and can be applied on new construction or retro-fitted in dry docking.

Large Vessels

Seacoat technology is an environmentally safe alternative to traditional toxic anti-fouling paint. Lasting longer than conventional paint and has an ultra-smooth fuel-efficient hull coating; for large Vessels, a non-stick surface is key.

Large Vessels using Seacoat

Seacoat’s SEA-SPEED V 10 X Ultra Clear hard film polysiloxane clear coat (Silicone) foul release coating technology is an environmentally safe alternative to traditional toxic antifouling paint. Unlike conventional TOXIC boat bottom paint or soft silicone bottom paint, SEA-SPEED V 10 X Ultra Clear can be scrubbed without damaging the coating or releasing toxic cuprous oxides or biocides into the water.

It will last 3 to 5 times longer than conventional bottom paint and provides an ultra-smooth fuel-efficient hull coating. Burning less fuel reduces the overall emissions and carbon footprint of every vessel in your fleet. The low coefficient of friction and low surface energy results in greater hull efficiency. The SEA-SPEED V 10 X Ultra Clear also is extremely smooth with a very low surface roughness of around five (5) microns. See testing certification section for more details. Depending on the vessel design, increases in speed and fuel savings up to ten (10%) percent may be realised compared to antifouling paints.

SEA-SPEED V 10 X Ultra Clear applied over our MIL-SPEC epoxy, Seapoxy-73 makes bottom painting simple and cost-effective. The system is designed for ease of application to steel or aluminium hulls on all types of cruise vessels, cruise ships and ferries. Seacoat’s proprietary technology forms a hard yet flexible elastomeric coating that is impermeable and highly durable (resistant to abrasion and impact). The coating inherently minimises biofouling.
